The short version: Links to eBay and Amazon go straight to the listing or search, with no affiliate tracking. We earn nothing from them.

How links work on this site

Every “View on eBay” button, listing card and eBay search link goes straight to the listing or search on eBay, with no affiliate or tracking code added. The tools-and-consumables link on each reference page is a plain Amazon search, also untracked. No seller, manufacturer, bike shop or marketplace pays us for placement. If that ever changes, for example if we join an affiliate programme, we will update this page and label the links before they go live.

Outbound links open in a new tab and carry rel="nofollow noopener": search engines know we aren’t vouching for an individual marketplace listing, and the new tab can’t control this one.

Buying picks and listing snapshots

Where a reference page has a “Which one to buy” section and a “Live on eBay right now” grid, they come from a dated review of the active eBay listings for that part. Picks are chosen on delivered price against the typical asking range, the condition and markings as described and photographed, and seller feedback. Overpriced listings and sellers we would double-check are tagged as warnings. Sellers cannot pay to be picked. Each snapshot is dated, and some listings will have ended by the time you see them. AI-generated reference photos

Where we have one, a reference page uses a representative product photo generated by an AI image model from real seller photos of that part. It is labelled as such where it appears large. It is not a photo of any listing, and the part you buy will look different. Judge condition and originality from the seller’s photos. See the methodology for details.

Selling to us

This site is part of allbutnew. The “Have one to sell?” links go to allbutnew’s shared offer form. If you send details of a derailleur, crankset, wheelset or groupset, someone from allbutnew replies by email with an offer or a straight no. You are free to sell it anywhere else until you accept.

What we don’t do

We don’t accept payment from sellers, manufacturers or bike shops to feature specific parts or listings.
We don’t show ads: no banner ads, no display networks, no pop-ups.
We don’t sell or share data with third parties. Vercel Analytics counts anonymous page views for our own reporting, with no per-visitor identification.
We aren’t affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Campagnolo, Shimano, SunTour, Mavic, Cinelli, 3T (3ttt), Brooks or any other component maker. Product names, model references and trademarks belong to their owners and are used here for identification only.

Purchases and disputes

Purchases happen on eBay (or Amazon), between you and the seller. We are not a party to the transaction; returns, refunds and item-not-as-described claims go through the platform’s buyer protection.
