Campagnolo Nuovo Record clamp-on downtube shift levers, 1970's
Campagnolo · ref 1014 (clamp-on); 1013/5 and 1013/6 (braze-on) · 1967–1980s
Part of the Campagnolo Nuovo Record groupset.
These are the aluminium friction down-tube levers Velobase lists under the Record name and attributes to both the Nuovo Record group and early Super Record; there was no separate Super Record lever in that period. Velobase catalogues the clamp-band version as 1014 and the braze-on pair as 1013/5 and 1013/6, which most likely denote left and right. Levers carry 'Patent Campagnolo' lettering. Velobase records several variations, including early versions with a black cable guide, versions with and without a built-in cable-housing stop, and a final 1984 version (1013/5N and 1013/6N) with the lettering recessed instead of raised. Because they are friction levers, they work with any period rear derailleur and freewheel; there is no indexing to match. Milled-out levers with the lettering removed are a period owner modification, not a factory variant, according to Velobase. Campagnolo also made Super Record retro-friction levers in the early to mid 1980s, which are a different design.

Buying guide
About 118 listings turn up for this search, and most complete pairs sell for $60–130 delivered. First decide which mount you need: the 1014 clamp-band version for frames without bosses, or the braze-on 1013/5 and 1013/6 pair for frames with down-tube bosses, and for a clamp-on pair make sure the band and bolt are included. Look for both levers and all hardware in the photos, since loose pairs are often incomplete, and use raised versus recessed lettering to match the rest of your group. Treat drilled or milled levers as owner modifications, not rare factory parts.
