Down-tube friction levers, Shimano SIS indexed down-tube levers (from Dura-Ace 7400 in 1984), SunTour's Power Ratchet friction levers, and Campagnolo's Ergopower brake-shift levers (first catalogued in 1992). Indexed shifters only work with derailleurs and cogs of the same family and speed count.
